How to Select an Atlanta, Lawrenceville or Gwinnett Disability or Handicap Accessibility Home Renovation Company

What makes a good home remodeler for Atlanta, Lawrenceville or Gwinnett disability or handicap accessibility home renovations? The National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) advises to select a home remodeler who has extensive business and management experience; construction and technical expertise; and a reputation for good customer service and interpersonal communication.

The best way to find Atlanta area handicap accessible bathroom and kitchen remodeling companies that meet these criteria, is to contact remodelers and ask the following questions. The answers to these questions will provide much of the information you need to locate a home remodeler for Atlanta, Lawrenceville and Gwinnett disability or handicap accessibility home renovations.

Does the home remodeler have a permanent address and have they been doing business for a long time, under their current name? Do they have experience doing the type of work you are interested in having done, such as stair lift installation, door widening, ramp installation or walk-in tub and roll-in shower installation? Does the remodeler have all of the necessary insurance to conduct business?

Contact Atlanta Home Modifications to set up a free on-site visit at your home to discuss flooring, lighting, electrical HVAC and lighting control solutions, stair lift installation, door widening, ramp installation or walk-in tub and roll-in shower installation for your home. We are an Atlanta based disability and handicap accessibility home renovation company. Contact us by calling 770.880.3405 or visit our Atlanta Home Modifications website.

Atlanta Walk-In Tubs — Ella’s Deluxe and Ella’s Soaking Walk-In Hydrotherapy Tubs

New residential construction markets are competing for the savvy aging-in-place and universal design customer by building homes equipped standard with walk-in tubs.

Our favorite model at Atlanta Home Modifications, LLC  is Ella’s Deluxe modelAtlantawalk-intubsella'sdeluxeella'ssoakingwalk-inhydrotherapytubs manufactured by  Ella’s Walk-In Tubs and equipped with 22 air and hydrotherapy jets. Every Ella’s model includes the same excellent warranty, ozone sterilization and an in-line water heater.

The warranty for all models is lifetime limited warranty on stainless steel frame, door, door seal, and tub shell; and five year warranty on parts.

Ozone sterilization is  an essential sterilizing feature and noted on the Ella’s website as follows: “A prominent feature on the Ella’s Deluxe is the Ozone Sterilization Generator. The Ozone Sterilization is a very effective sanitizer. It deodorizes and kills bacteria, viruses, microbes, and germs. Incredibly eco-friendly, ozone sterilization aids in keeping the tub clean. Ozone sterilization is controlled with push on/off button as needed during hydro massage.”

For more information regarding hydrotherapy, the following quote from the manufacturer’s website explains: “The Ella’s Deluxe strategically positioned 22 air and hydro therapy jets combined offers a more therapeutic bathing experience than traditional soaking baths. Combining the properties of air and hydro massage therapy, the Ella’s Deluxe tub features 12 hydro jets with an adjustable air flow control, an in-line water heater,10 air massage jets including 2 air jets built into the seat offering a unique and therapeutically beneficial bathing experience.  The hydro massage is turned on and off with push button ease, and the hydro massage water flow intensity function is controlled by turning the rotary control handle. This feature allows you to adjust the water flow to either a mild, or more intense massage experience. This is accomplished by adding or reducing air into the water stream.”

The Deluxe model size is 29.5” x 55” (59” with extension) x40”.  Ella’s Dual Drain Technology consists of:

  • Dual 2” brass & copper drains (compare to one 1.5” standard drain)

Atlanta Area Wheelchair Accessible Hiking Trails in Dekalb, Cobb, Forsyth, Fulton and Gwinnett Counties

Have you had the pleasure of taking your wheelchair or scooter on one of theAtlantawheelchairaccessiblehikingtrailsDekalbCobbForsythFultonGwinnettCounties dozen or more wheelchair accessible hiking trails in the Atlanta area? We had a great time visiting the 4 mile Suwanee Creek Greenway in Gwinnett County with my wheelchair bound mother, a Labrador Retriever on a leash, and a child on roller blades. The trail was beautiful, and mom loved getting out into the forest.

Other Atlanta area wheelchair accessible trails include the 13 mile Arabia Mountain Trail in De Kalb County, 13.5 mile long  Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth, the 3.7 mile long Chastain Park Trail in Fulton County, and the  1.5 mile long Wild Horse Trail in Cobb County.

Finally, a great destination for a variety of activities including accessible trail riding is Stone Mountain Park, where you will find the 19 mile long Stone Mountain Trail in DeKalb County. As the weather cools down this fall, pack up your stuff and head on out for an enjoyable day on one of the Atlanta area wheelchair accessible hiking trails in Dekalb, Cobb, Forsyth, Fulton or Gwinnett County.
